Partner Kirby Drake Elected President of The Shoulders of Giants (TSoG)

DALLAS – Klemchuk LLP, a leading litigation, intellectual property (IP), and business law firm, announces that Partner Kirby Drake has been elected President of The Shoulders of Giants, Inc. (TSoG) for 2019-2020. 

“I am excited to be elected President of The Shoulders of Giants which has been a passion of mine since I co-founded the organization years ago,” said Partner Kirby Drake. “Being able to support an organization that educates and mentors students around the globe as they learn about science and engineering is so rewarding.”

The Shoulders of Giants, Inc. (TSoG) is a nonprofit (501(c)(3)) organization founded in 2013 based on a vision that world-class science education should be available to all students of all ages. Since 2015, The Shoulders of Giants has offered an immersive, ongoing mentorship program designed to provide middle and high school students with a broad foundation of knowledge and skills across science and engineering disciplines, experience working and communicating in a professional environment, and helps them develop the study habits necessary to achieve success at the university level and beyond.

In 2019, this world-class program became available to students everywhere with the launch of TSoG.tv! TSoG.tv provides live-streamed interactive classes through the Twitch platform, and classes are available to anyone with Internet access. TSoG also offers a subscription service that includes access to an eLearning platform that provides organized course content and materials, instructor led community on Discord channels, and a sense of community with like-minded peers and professionals. TSoG has leveraged technology to provide a more direct impact on any student who seeks technical knowledge and practical skills without regard to geographical limitations or student economic ability.

Kirby Drake is the current Chair of the American Chemical Society Committee on Patents & Related Matters. Ms. Drake is the Immediate Past Chair for the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of Texas. She is experienced in many areas of intellectual property law and focuses primarily on intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution, addressing a broad range of technologies. Ms. Drake earned a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude, in chemistry from Duke University.
